RECOMMENDATIONS - STAFF
Classification employed until a uniform usage is agreed upon:-
Senior Lecturer means "of consulting status" Lecturer was formerly 1st Assistant
Assistant Lecturer was formerly 2nd Assistant
DEPARTMENT OF MEDICINE
The following recommendation is based on the assumption that adequate teaching be ds will be provided. No further increase in staff would be necessary to deal with additional medical beds at the Queen Mary Hospital.
Additional Senior Lecturer, Assistant Lecturer and Lecturer in Pharmacology and Therapeutics (also teaching clinical medicine) are needed so that ward teaching may be done in small manageable groups With these 3 teachers and the present establishment of 3, groups would be about 15 in number.
The Technician Grade III now working on specimens is borrowed from another Department whose need is at present less.
Lecturer in Pharmacology and Therapeutics. At present teaching in this subject is carried out jointly by the Departments of Medicine and Physiology. The result of the above cooperation has been most satisfactory. However, with the present establishment and teaching commitments it has not been possible to prepare an adequately
illustrated course.
